{"id":8687,"date":"2012-05-20T00:00:32","date_gmt":"2012-05-19T15:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/?p=8687"},"modified":"2018-08-30T23:36:09","modified_gmt":"2018-08-30T14:36:09","slug":"across-mountains-of-yubari-tetsudo-line-a-little-extra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/?p=8687&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Across mountains of Yubari tetsudo line (+a little extra)"},"content":{"rendered":"<P>The railroad opened from Yubari city (\u5915\u5f35\u5e02, y\u016bbari shi) the coal kingdom among the mountains to Kuriyama town (\u6817\u5c71\u753a, kuriyama cho) at <TIME datetime=\"1926-10-14\">October 14 1926<\/TIME>.It&#8217;s Yubari tetsudo (\u5915\u5f35\u9244\u9053, y\u016bbari tetsud\u014d) yubari tetsudo line(\u5915\u5f35\u9244\u9053\u7dda, y\u016bbari tetsud\u014d line), this is a later Hokkaido Colliery &#038; Steamship (\u5317\u6d77\u9053\u70ad\u7926\u6c7d\u8239, hokkaid\u014d tank\u014d kisen) Yubari tetsudo line(\u5915\u5f35\u9244\u9053\u7dda, y\u016bbari tetsudo\u014d line). Yubari prosperous from the Meiji period with the coal industry, but people living Yubari detour to south via Oiwake station (\u8ffd\u5206\u99c5, oiwake eki) and Momijiyama station (\u7d05\u8449\u5c71, momijiyama eki) to neighbor Kuriyama. I try measure on map, Yubari and Kuriyama is 15.5km distance. Earlier Yubari tetsudo line, trains run 60km to naught. But after that Yubari tetsudo line decrease 34.4km.<BR>\r\nThe line abolished at <TIME datetime=\"1975-04-01\">April 1, 1975<\/TIME> with the passage of time (motorization, mine closure, depopulation, subsidies abolition)<\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"2012052001.png\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/2012052001l.png\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/2012052001s.png\" alt=\"2012052001.png\" \/><\/A><BR>\r\nYubari tetsudo line set off last Yubari station Heiwa station (\u5e73\u548c\u99c5, heiwa eki) , and leave coal kingdom. This mountains are most and only crossing mountain of the line. There are three tunnels (No.1-3) and Nisikisawa station(\u9326\u6ca2\u99c5, nisikizawa eki) has typical switchback. Today I attacked these across mountain area by MTB.<\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"20120520071236DSC_0041.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520071236DSC_0041l.JPG\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520071236DSC_0041s.JPG\" alt=\"20120520071236DSC_0041.JPG\" \/><\/A> <A title=\"2012052002.png\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/2012052002l.png\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/2012052002s.png\" alt=\"2012052002.png\" \/><\/A><BR>The start point is here. It&#8217;s about 200m after from last station Heiwa sta. that was the last station of across mountain. Road surface is asphalt concrete pavemented. After railroad abolition, the road became a cycling road, it used for health promotion of residents.Today I came from Wakana station (\u82e5\u83dc\u99c5, wakana eki) , but I start odd point because the road crowded with many uncles or aunts who jogging walking a dog. Nevertheless I didn&#8217;t see any youngers. <\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"20120520071550DSC_0046-2.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520071550DSC_0046-2l.JPG\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520071550DSC_0046-2s.JPG\" alt=\"20120520071550DSC_0046-2.JPG\" \/><\/A><BR>\r\nI am pedaling a few minutes, the road entered into between spur and spur, while ground covered mud or bushes, fallen tree blocking me. In fact cycling road that section of across mountains has obsoleted.I think is&#8217;s dangerous. Upper bridge is a water pipe that flow gulley left to right. Mouth Arch is triple brick. There is a concrete lining inside the brick. I think it has been constructed after railroad abolition. Otherwise, it looks violate loading gauge.<\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"20120520065852DSC_0034.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520065852DSC_0034l.JPG\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520065852DSC_0034s.JPG\" alt=\"20120520065852DSC_0034.JPG\" \/><\/A><BR>\r\nIt&#8217;s called No.1 tunnel as cycling road. Railroad era, it&#8217;s named No.3 tunnel. what&#8217;s a confusing name. Cycling road era, it has light written under tunnel name.<\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"20120520080104DSC_0065.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520080104DSC_0065l.JPG\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520080104DSC_0065s.JPG\" alt=\"20120520080104DSC_0065.JPG\" \/><\/A><BR>\r\nAs you can see it has closed by the boards 2m heigh. If there are only these boards, I can enter, but I can see the wall that looks closure completely in the back of the boards. Concrete lining is only near the portal, The other is a concrete blocked wall and sooty bricked arch. The surface of the road like a riverbed with water ant gravel flow into the tunnel.<\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"20120520074146DSC_0051-2.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520074146DSC_0051-2l.JPG\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520074146DSC_0051-2s.JPG\" alt=\"20120520074146DSC_0051.JPG\" \/><\/A><BR>\r\nSupra picture is bright because taken by 30 seconds exposure, but fact is dark like this picture. Shutter partly open and there are boards outside and light is nothing, then it&#8217;s really dark. The wall assembling with pipe like&#8221;#&#8221; and board locked with wire. It can not unlock from outside. The arch covered with wire net and there are fluorescent lights. This side have lining longer than another. Brick of arch increase to quadruple. Road from No.3 to No.2 is good condition to ride MTB except broken one.<\/P>\r\n<HR class=\"pause\">\r\n<P><A title=\"20120520084632DSC_0088.JPG\" href=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520084632DSC_0088l.JPG\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"colorbox\"><IMG src=\"https:\/\/morigen.net\/blog\/image\/2012\/05\/20\/20120520084632DSC_0088s.JPG\" alt=\"20120520084632DSC_0088.JPG\" \/><\/A><BR>\r\nNo.2 tunnel same Construction with No.3. Board removed and the shutter opened same too. One place, arch has broke down, but not prevent me. This portal construction same too.
